Mabel B. Fry, 87, of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.
She was born May 5, 1927, in Boyd County, KY, to Henry and Viola Salyers Carpenter. In April 1974, she married Troy Fry; he preceded her in death in December 1997.
Mabel graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1946. She spent most of her life in Wabash County before moving to Frankfort in 1997. Mabel retired from General Tire and Rubber Company where she had worked for 37 years. She was a member of Frankfort Bible Holiness Church and had been a Sunday school teacher in Laketon.
Surviving Mabel are one daughter, Rebecca (Pastor Mark) Mowery of Frankfort; four step-children, Paul (Rose) Fry of Frankfort, Janet Rhudy of Dayton, and Judy Waggenecht of Lafayette; step daughter-in-law, Gwen Fry of Sheridan; 16 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mabel is preceded in death by her parents, one step-son, Danny Fry; three brothers, and four sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015, from 4:00 â 7:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral service for Mabel will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015, at Frankfort Bible Holiness Church with Pastor Mark Mowery, Pastor Travis Johnson, and Dr. David Fry officiating. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorials in Mabelâs name may be made to Frankfort Bible Holiness Church Building Fund.
