Mabel Cottrell Scott Davis, 87, of Frankfort, died at 6:48 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at her residence.
She was born Feb. 22, 1924 in Rose Hill, Va., to the late Jim and Mary (Eldridge) Cottrell. She was married to Oscar Scott from 1940-1981 and then she married Arthur L. Davis. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She enjoyed being a home health caregiver for more than 30 years, in addition to being a homemaker. She was a member of Victory Chapel Church and also enjoyed sewing, quilting and flower gardening.
She is survived by five sons: Kenneth (Janet) Scott of Virginia, Fred (Diane) Scott of Tennessee, William (Susan) Scott of Virginia, and Melvin (Jeannie) Scott and David (Jeannie) Scott, both of Frankfort; four daughters: Delora Bridgeman, Jerelene (Robert) Dias, Linda Carter and Vinnie Hinkle all of Frankfort; a sister: Maude Wolf of Frankfort; two brothers: JD (Cathy) Cottrell of Frankfort and Bobby Cottrell of Virginia; 37 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son: Lonnie Scott; and infant son: Tommy Scott; a sister: Evelyn; and six brothers: Orville, Chester, Jasper, Bill, Johnny and Clifford.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 16, at Genda Funeral Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home, with pastors James Barnard, Jim Meek and George Flannery officiating. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.
