Macklyn Harold Edward Bradish, 77, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.
He was born in Adrian, Michigan, on May 14, 1936, to the late Harold Edward and Jenny (Belcher) Bradish.
Macklyn married the Rev. Mary Alys Hummel of Warsaw, and they divorced. In 1983, he married the former Beulah Harrison; she passed away June of 2003.
In 1953, Macklyn graduated from Adrian High School in Jackson County, Michigan. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Huntington College in 1960. In 1968, he received his Master of Divinity degree from CTS in Indianapolis.
Before beginning his ministry, he served as a church music director at various churches including serving as a music teacher and director at Silver Lake Wesleyan Church near Warsaw, Indiana. He enjoyed singing and was accomplished at playing the french horn.
Throughout his ministry, Rev. Bradish served the following churches: Atlanta/Boxley, Eden, Simpson Association, Somerset, Royal Center Grace Caley, Anderson Bethel, Kokomo Parrish, Rossville/Moran. Rev. Bradish was serving the Rossville United Methodist Church before his retirement in June of 1998.
He is survived by his ex-wife and friend, Rev. Mary Alys Hummel; one son, Charles (wife Cheryl) Bradish of San Diego; two step-sons, Mark (wife Carol) Harrison of Tipton, and Randy (wife Sherry) Harrison of Kokomo; two nieces, Shelly Cole and Tracy Bradish; one nephew, Rodney Bradish; two sisters-in-law, Dee Bradish and Vivian Bradish; five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Rodney M. Bradish and Douglas Bradish; and one infant sister.
Visitation for Rev. Bradish will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at the Rossville United Methodist Church until the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Rick Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at the Kokomo Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made on the Rossville United Methodist Church.
