Madonna Burton

Madonna Burton, 85, of Flora, passed away surrounded by loving friends and family, Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, FL.  She was born June 30, 1932 in Frankfort to Reid and Lena (Pullen) Burns.  She was a 1950 graduate of Frankfort High School.  In 1952, she married her late husband, Charles Lee Burton.

She was a homemaker, sold Avon and helped her husband at the Carroll County Health Department.  She was a member of Delta Theta Chi Sorority.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and yard work. She also enjoyed riding, raising, and showing horses which gave her the opportunity to meet Patrick Swayze and visit his house, which was one of her favorite memories.

Madonna is survived by her son, Geoffrey Burton of Flora and dear friends and caretakers, Gary and Shannon Rader and their children.

Along with her parents and her husband of 60 years, she was preceded in death by a brother, George W. Burns and a sister, Katie- Ann Burns.

Visitation will be 11am until the time of the service at 1pm, Tuesday May 15, 2018 at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora.  Pastor Todd Ladd will officiate.  Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
