Mair Evans, 66, of Sedalia, died Sunday, October 27, 2013, at 7:05 pm at the home of her brother in Jamestown, Ohio. She was born in Middlesboro, KY, on October 4, 1947. Mair was preceded in death by her parents, Mac and Kathleen (Byrd) Fultz, and her sister, Brenda (Fultz) Waltz.
Mair is survived by her son S. Dana Harper of Seattle Washington; adopted daughters, Kathleen Merrill of Seattle, Washington, and Felicity Merrill of California; her brother Kenton Hill and his wife, Linda, of Jamestown, Ohio; a grandson and two nieces.
Mair leaves behind Zoe, her African Grey Parrot; Robert, her long hair Chihuahua; and Diamond, her cat, all of which have found loving homes. She will be missed by her two grandchildren, Rocky Top and Baby Girl, both Yorkshire Terriers. Mair was a rescue and rehabilitation caregiver to an assortment of wildlife & pets in the Tippecanoe and Clinton County areas. She was owner/operator of Grandma Grooming in Sedalia.
Mair was a graduate of Purdue School of Nursing in 1996. She worked as a psychiatric nurse for St. Vincent Hospital and Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis. She also worked at the Indiana Menâs Correctional and several other local health care facilities.
Mair had given her soul to God and donated her body for medical research at the Indiana School of Medicine in Indianapolis.
