Marcia E. Butler, 65, a lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at 11:35 p.m. at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 28, 1948, the daughter of Wallace and Wilma Gardner Knipp. On December 31, 1967, she married Roger Butler; he survives.
Marcia graduated Frankfort Senior High School in 1966. She was secretary for the Clinton County Boys and Girls Club and taught fifth and sixth grades at Living Word Christian Academy. Marcia was a Cub Scout Den Mother from 1976, Cub Scout Day Camp Director at Camp Cullom for three years, and proudly earned her Polar Bear Patch. She served as a Boy Scouts of America District Commissioner of the Great Northwest District. Marcia was a lifelong avid quilter. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts. Marcia was a member of Frankfort Community Christian Church.
In addition to her husband, Marcia is survived by her sons, Mark A. (Brenda) Butler of Frankfort, and Matthew A. (Sheila) Butler of New York City; daughter, Nichole (Robert) Hanson of East Longmeadow, MA; sister, Chris Greeno of Frankfort; brother, Brad Knipp of Frankfort; and eight grandchildren, Braden, Bransen, Brennen, Nicholas, Maggie, Ian, Andrew, and Isabella.
Visitation for Marcia will be held from 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Frankfort Community Christian Church with Pastor Tim Grasham officiating. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorials in Marciaâs name may be made to Frankfort Community Christian Church Building Fund.
