Marcia Sue Prass, 59, died at 5:35 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012, in St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette.
Mrs. Prass was born July 14, 1953, in Logansport. She graduated from Rossville High School in 1971.
On November 5, 1973, she married Claude A. âChuckâ Prass in Pyrmont; he survives.
Mrs. Prass lived her early years at a home ½ mile east of Sedalia along State Highway 26. After her marriage, she also lived in Lafayette, Rossville, Pyrmont, Greenfield, Lawrence, and Indianapolis. For the past 28 years, she was a resident of Colfax.
In the 1980âs, Mrs. Prass worked for Cree/Knop Auctioneers and Lafayette Auto Exchange, and then 23 years with Frito-Lay until illness forced her retirement in 2011.
Mrs. Prass accompanied her husband on their Lighthouse Photography trips for 13 years, traveling around all five Great Lakes. She was an expert crotcheter, making large blankets and other items for her family and friends.
Also surviving are two daughters, Gloria East of Frankfort and Tanya Prass of Mulberry; two sons, Daniel Prass of Colfax and Arthur Prass of Danville, IL; stepson, Samuel Prass of Chesapeake, VA; sisters, Verna Mae Kessler of Rossville, Barbara Cree of Rossville, Bea Rodgers of Lafayette, Carolyn Titterington of Xenia, OH; brothers, Ronald Dolby of Lafayette and Charles Doby of Flora; and eight grandchildren, Alanis East, Dylan East, and Reese East, all of Frankfort, and Quentin Grice and Hunter Grice, both of Mulberry, Allison Prass and Allyssa Prass, both of Frankfort, and Amaya Prass of Colfax.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Curtis Dolby and Florence Elizabeth Marshall Dolby; sisters, Norma Jean Green, Florene Blackburn, and Lucille Dolby; and one son, Matthew Prass.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Bodine Funeral Home in Rossville, from noon until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Pastor David French will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery.
