Margaret Jane Chittick

Margaret Jane Chittick, 78, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.

She was born February 21, 1936, the daughter of Finley Nelson and Mary Evelyn Martin Atwell.  She married Phillip Ray Chittick; he preceded her in death.

Margaret was a homemaker and farmer.  In her younger years, she worked as a telephone switchboard operator for Mulberry Telephone.  Margaret enjoyed antique shopping, cooking, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving Margaret are two daughters, Deborah Jane (George) Green and Mary Teresa (Michael) Solomon; two sons, Curtis Ray Chittick and Chris Allen Chittick; four grandchildren, Ross (Chrissy) Thorne, Matthew (Jeanette) Solomon, Andrew Solomon, and Josey Chittick (fiancé, Victoria Smith); and three great grandchildren, Tanner Thorne, Owen Solomon, and Wyatt Chittick.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Joe Atwell.

Visitation for Margaret will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m.  Rev.
