Margaret M. Sibbitt

Just 10 days before her 102nd birthday, Margaret left her earthly home to reside in her heavenly home with family and her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was small in stature but had a large heart for friends and especially family. Margaret passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Mulberry Health in Mulberry.  She was born on September 14, 1920, in Burlington Township - Carroll County, to Walter and Nellie (Clingenpeel) Allbaugh. She married Charles E. Sibbitt, Jr. on October 20, 1939, at the Rossville Church of the Brethren Parsonage; he preceded her in death on December 10, 2010.

Margaret was a 1938 graduate of Burlington High School.  She was a member of the Living Faith Church of the Brethren where  she enjoyed singing and leading many hymns. She was a charter member of the Friendly Circle Home Ec Club of Flora and a women’s trio where she sang at many church services.

Margaret is survived by her son, Jerry (Joyce) Sibbitt of Bringhurst; son-in-law, Bill Root; grandchildren Douglas (Tamara) Sibbitt of Marseilles, IL, Kristen (Rodney) Seward of Bringhurst, and Debbie (Terry) Root Hamilton of Lakeview, FL; eight great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a special friend and caregiver, Mona Groninger; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by; daughter, Patricia A. Root; brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Glenda) Allbaugh; and a sister, Annabel Allbaugh

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Genda Funeral Home – Reinke Chapel in Flora.  Guy Studebaker and Dana Hood will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Memorial donations may be made to the Living Faith Church of the Brethren 310 N 250 W  Flora, IN  46929.
