Marigrace Stroup Heckathorne, 96, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at her home.
She was born July 8, 1919, in Tipton, to Walter Henry and Maude Searfoss Powell. On September 25, 1941, she married Allen Ray Stroup; he preceded her in death. She later married Ray Heckathorne in 1979; he preceded her in death also.
Marigrace was a loving mother, homemaker and seamstress in a bridal shop. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Frankfort, Abdeel Sunday School Class, and Home Study Club.
Surviving are her daughters, Marcia Stroup of Mars, PA, and Tammie (John) Farrell of Frankfort; step-son, Ronald D. Stroup of Lafayette; grandchildren, Chad Stroup of Pittsburgh, PA, and Ginger Hoskins of Maryville, TN; great grandchildren, Chris Young and Noah Hoskins; and sister, Jeanette Pyle of Frankfort.
In addition to her husbands, Marigrace is preceded in death by her parents; son, Walter Ray Miller; step-son, Richard A. Stroup; step-daughter, Beverly Roberts Zivaljie; sisters, Marion Jones, Betty Smith, and Joanna Brown; and brother, Luther Powell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Chaplain Emmett Ade will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Memorials in Marigraceâs name may be made to First Baptist Church or Clinton County Humane Society.
