Marjorie Rude, 92, of Rossville passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Milner Community Health Center. She was born on February 29, 1924 in Middlefork, the daughter of the late Frank and Edith (Cohee) Whiteman. On October 24, 1947 in Middlefork, Marjorie married Dorville Rude; he preceded her in death in 2011.
Marjorie was a 1942 graduate of Forest High School. During World War II, school she worked at Delco Electronics in Kokomo. She later worked as a clerk for the Sedalia Post Office for 20 years. She was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and a former Sunday School Teacher. Marjorie was also member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Alcoa Retireeâs Club, Owen Township Home Extension Club and a 50 year member of the Beard Eastern Star. She was a dedicated house wife, mother and grandmother.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Richard E. Rude (Margaret) of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Brenda S. (Bruce) Stevens of Rossville; seven grandchildren, Megan ( John) Jernovics, Christopher Rude, Kyle (Tanice) Gustafson, Emily ( Luke) Caenepeel, Kirk Gustafson, Blair (Gretchen) Stevens and Briana (Jesse) Haltom; and nine great-grandchildren, Grace, Emma, Doyle, Sydney, Dylan, Reese, Jaxson, Bryson and Everly.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Joyce Gustafson; four sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel with Rev. Bob Raschka officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
