Marsha Ann Hopkins Zimmerman, 54, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born January 1, 1962, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, to Jerry and Charlotte Leitz Hopkins; her mother survives.
Marsha graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 1980, received her Bachelor of Science in environmental science from Purdue University in 1985, and attained her Masters of Education from UINDY in 2011. She was a chemistry and physics teacher with Franklin Central School and assistant coach for their robotics team. Her passion for teaching was acquired through her work as an ENL Instructional Aide. Marsha was a member of Lifepoint Church in Indianapolis.
In addition to her mother, Marsha is survived by her children, Andrea Zimmerman, of Indianapolis, and Nicholas Zimmerman and Sara Zimmerman, both of Indianapolis; brother, Alan Hopkins, of Indianapolis; and sister, Karen (Ted) Cripe of Frankfort.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Lifepoint Church in Indianapolis, from 4:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Pastor Jym Gregory will officiate. Burial will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorials in Marshaâs name may be made to Lifepoint Church. arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.
