Martha E. (Winter) Aders

Martha E. Aders, 77, Frankfort, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 19, 2023.  Martha was born November 10, 1945, in Spencer, IN to Raymond F. and Lillie (Ward) Winter.  She married Larry J. Lewis in December of 1962.  They divorced in 1980.  He passed in 1997.  She married Ed Richardson, July of 1982.  He preceded her in death in January of 1990.  She then married Coy “Spank” Aders in July of 1992.  He preceded her in death in September of 2010.

Martha was a 1963 graduate of Frankfort High School.  She worked at Delphi Automotive and retired after 30 years.  She then worked at the American Legion Post #12 and retired after 20 years.  She was a member of First Christian Church in Frankfort, was an American Legion Auxiliary lifetime member, the Frankfort Moose for over 40 years, Frankfort Eagles Lodge, and the VFW.  She enjoyed fishing, gambling, playing cards, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, John Bradley (Bridget) Lewis, Brian (Carlene) Lewis, Michelle (Gerry Bright) Jarman; companion, John O’Brien; stepsons, Larry and Stephen Richardson; stepdaughter, Cathy Wills; siblings, Shelby Branstetter, Mary Wiebers, Raymond “Junior” (Susie) Winter, David (Barb) Winter, Wesley (Wilma) Winter, Josh Winter, and Linda Walker; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Along with her husbands, Martha is preceded in death by her parents, stepson, Trevor Aders; brother, Vincent Winter; stepmother, Thelma Winter; brothers-in-law, Robert Branstetter, Sr. and Jacob Wiebers; and grandchildren, Sasha Hettich and Evin Jarman.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 1pm until the time of the service at 3pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Paul Whitaker will officiate.  Burial will follow at Bunnell Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #12 Ladies’ Auxiliary.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
