Martha E. Fisher

Martha Eileen Fisher, 92, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013, at I.U. Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.

She was born August 16, 1921, in Mitchell, the daughter of Noble Wendell Lee & Gladys Trisler Cornwell.  On March 26, 1944, she married Leo Ross Fisher; he preceded her in death August 22, 2012.  

Martha graduated Rossville High School in 1939.  She was a homemaker and worked ten years for Twin Lakes School Corp in food service.  Martha was an over 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and attended Monticello Christian Church.

She is survived by one son, Jack B. Fisher (wife: Linda) of Monticello; one daughter, Marsha J. Morlan (husband: Jerry) of Monticello; four grandchildren, Kendall, Miranda, Morgan and Teresa; and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Martha is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Norma Sauter; and three brothers, Thorton Cornwell, Jerry Corwnell, and Frank Cornwell.

Visitation for Martha will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Chris Dodson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery.  Memorials in Martha’s name may be made to Monticello Christian Church Building Fund.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
