Martha Faye Crick

Martha Faye Crick, 94, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Wesley Manor Health and Retirement Community.  

She was born October 7, 1919, in Mayflower, AR, the daughter of Andy B. and Allie Dycus Hall.  In 1935, Faye married Linzy Crick; he preceded her in death in 1955.

Faye moved to the Frankfort area in 1951.  She previously worked for Mallory Controls, Courtland/Harmesons, and worked for 20 years at Peter Paul in the shipping/cutting department.  She was a church assistant at the Apostolic Mission, a former Sunday School Teacher, and held numerous positions at the church.  She had a love for gospel music, gardening, family and friends.  Faye was the matriarch of eight five-generation families still living out of 16.

Surviving Faye are her children, Omia Jean (Robert) Donoho, Caryline Huffer, Betty Crick, and Jane Pletch, all of Frankfort; two brothers, Bobby Joe (Susie) Hall and Andy Ray Hall, both of South Carolina; two sisters, Eunice McPhearson and Inez Berry, both of Arkansas; 33 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and 81 great-great-grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Wanda Wooley and Shirley Wood; one son, Jim “Bub” Crick; three grandsons; three brothers, Andrew, Harvey, Lloyd, and Tenner Hall; and seven sisters, Hester Pitts, Helena Hall, Lillie Mae Hooks, Omia Jean Hall, Frances Elizabeth Hall, Myrtle Jane Hall, and Barbara Jean Hall.

Visitation for Faye will be held at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort on Sunday, March 23, 2014, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.  Memorials in Faye’s name may be made to Paul Phillippe Resource Center.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
