Martha G Boggs

Martha G. Boggs, 77, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born July 30, 1938, in Big Stone Gap, VA, to Charles Henry Tignor and Elizabeth Kelly Spears Tignor. In 1959, she married Dellis H. Boggs who survives.

Martha graduated from high school in Big Stone Gap, VA in 1956. She worked for many years at Maytag in Lebanon as the Laundry Manager. She was of the Baptist Faith loved going to church at Thorntown Baptist Church as well as Big Springs Baptist Church in Sheridan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and truly loved being a grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Martha is survived by her children, Dallas H. Boggs; three daughters, Barbara L. Purdy (Charles), Patricia G. Cooper; Janice M. Boggs all of Lebanon; one sister, Janette M. Haiger of Big Stone Gap, VA; ten grandchildren, Robert Hayes, Kristie Hayes, Ashley Boggs, Brandon Cooper, Chelsea, Dallas Boggs, Keith Boggs, Andrew Boggs, Sean Mckay Jr. and Heather Mckay and ten great-grandchildren.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Clarence Tignor.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 am until time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon with Pastor Chuck Williams of First Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.  Memorials in Martha’s name may be made to Caring Center Food Pantry in Lebanon.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
