Martha L. Mohler Wainscott, 93, of Mulberry passed away on February 4, 2013 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
Martha was born on April 17, 1919, in Ross Township, Clinton County, Indiana to Daniel Isaac and Mabel A. (Beisel) Mohler.
She graduated from Mulberry High School in 1937 and from Indiana Business College. She married F. Gerald Wainscott on December 24, 1939; he passed on June 7, 2006.
Martha retired as office manager for Jovis Supply Company, Inc. and Kentland Dairy Products Company of Mulberry in January, 1981. She had also worked for Public Service in Mulberry and Production Credit Assn of Frankfort and clerked auction sales with her father for many years.
She was an active member of Trinity Church of Mulberry and a former member of Faith Baptist in Lafayette for 22 years. She loved to sing and had been a Trinity choir member for many years. She was active in the Trinity Womenâs Guild, Mulberry Community Club, and served as a Pink Lady at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital. She had been a 10 year member of the once formed Mulberry Motherâs Club, and was a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star #459; Martha also sang with the Tippecanoe County Extension Chorus.
Martha was saved as a young girl at church camp at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. She loved her church, her family, and her community. She loved to bake and won many ribbons at the Clinton County Fair. She loved searching family history and connecting to these relative she would find.
Martha is survived by one son, Ronald and his wife, Suzann Wainscott of Mulberry; one daughter, Marilyn Mammen of Lamar, Missouri; two sister-in-laws, Thelma Gray of Rossville and Joan Burns of Lafayette; brother-in-law, Ivan Hiatt of Frankfort; five grandchildren, Rhonda (Ben) Hopkins, Rachel (Chad) Suhr, Rhett (Jody) Wainscott, Melanie (Frank) Weasner, and Nathan (Jennifer) Mammen; and nine great-grandchildren, Morgan, Alexa, Breanna, David, Megan, Alison, Abigail, Evan, and Madison.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rick Mammen, in 2011
Visitation for Martha will be held on Thursday, February 7th from 4-8 pm at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel. Funeral service for Martha will be held on Friday, February 8 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Church in Mulberry with Marthaâs grandson, Frank Weasner, and Pastor Whisler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke Cemetery.
