Martha Maxine Higinbotham, 95, formerly of Frankfort, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Maple Park Village in Westfield.
She was born March 16, 1919, in Colfax, to Jess and Armilda Ann Randels. She moved to Frankfort as a young child. On January 16, 1937, she married Roy F. Higinbotham; he passed away October 20, 1991.
Martha worked for PR Mallory for 18 years before babysitting for 12 years. She was loved by those she sat and was called âNanny.â She belonged to First Church of the Nazarene in Frankfort, and was involved with the Home Economics Club and The Joy Group (just older youths). She made many friends through these activities.
Surviving Martha are three sons, Bill, James, and Phillip; nine grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and eight great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Martha is preceded in death by five sisters, Zelma Randels, Velma Hedge, Maude Rogers, Esther Gibbs, and Nina Southwick; and two brothers, John Randels and Ernest Randels.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 â 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Frankfort, with Pastor Douglas Cox officiating.
