Marthetta M. Reddix

Marthetta M. Reddix, 87, of Mulberry, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Mulberry Health.

She was born May 12, 1929, in Akron, CO, to LaDene and Elizabeth Ross Vance.  On October 27, 1948, she married John W. Reddix in Lakewood, CO; he passed away on April 23, 1999.

Marthetta graduated high school in Akron.  She retired from Sierra Vista Schools in Arizona, where she worked in the cafeteria.  For 34 years, she and her husband moved as the ministry required.  In 2009, they moved to Mulberry.  Marthetta was a member of both the Mulberry United Methodist Church and Sierra Vista United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and working in the yard.

Surviving Marthetta are one son, Paul (Sandy) Reddix of Mulberry; granddaughters, Andrea Burke and Lindsay Reddix; great granddaughter, Nicole Burke; one brother, Ross (Ruth) Vance of Colorado; and sister-in-law, Viviane Vance Jr. of Colorado.

In addition to her husband, Marthetta is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, MaryAnn; and one brother, LaDene Vance Jr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Pastor Harley Helm will officiate.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in Sierra Vista, Arizona.  Memorials in Marthetta’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
