Mary E. Smith

Mary E. Smith, 91, of Deer Creek, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.  She was born November 30, 1926 in Carroll County to Ross and Cora (Heiland) Meek.  She was a 1944 graduate of Carrollton High School.  She married James S. Smith in 1946.   He preceded her in death.  Mary was a member of Deer Creek Presbyterian Church and enjoyed working in the yard, playing cards, reading, and her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Scott Smith (Lucy) of Delphi, Mitzi Colella (Michael) of Nebraska; a stepdaughter, Patricia Badt of Florida; and grandchildren, Whitney, Brett, and Damon Colella.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, and two daughters, Debra and Melody Smith.

Visitation will be 4-6pm, Monday, June 4, 2018 at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora. 

Funeral services will be held 10am, Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the funeral home.   Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
