Mary F. McDaniel

Mary Florence McDaniel, 85, formerly of Jefferson, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.

She was born April 4, 1932, in Mill Springs, Kentucky, to Dewey Edgar and Willie Mae Winchester Perkins.  In July 1948, Mary married Forrest Lee McDaniel; he passed away in April 2003.

Mary moved to Frankfort in 1954.  She worked at Uni-Electric for 20 years before working at the Frankfort Nursing Home and later in private home health care. Mary was a lifetime member of the Memorial Parkway Church of Christ.

Surviving are her sons, Jim (Chris) McDaniel and Forrest McDaniel Jr., both of Jefferson, John McDaniel, of Michigantown, and Darrell McDaniel, of Dayton; daughter, Mary “Sissy” McDaniel of Frankfort; brother, Joe Perkins, of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mary is preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Bobby Joe; six brothers, and four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from noon to the start of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.
