Mary âJaneâ Roush, 89, of Rossville passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at her home. She was born December 4, 1927 in Tippecanoe County to Burvil and Lavaun (Ewing) Snyder.
Jane graduated from Rossville High School in 1945 then worked for National Homes for over 18 years and later was employed by Mellinger Insurance Agency. She attended Rossville United Methodist Church and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary #354. Jane enjoyed cooking, doing crochet and embroidery and also enjoyed square dancing. Family was a #1 priority and she was very close with all of her family.
On March 22, 1953, Jane married Roy âJuniorâ Roush and together traveled to visit all 50 states and Canada during their 60 years of marriage. Junior preceded her in death on October 25, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister Joan Miller, nephew Byron Miller and brothers-in-law Bill Miller and Richard Kemmer.
Surviving family includes three sisters, Ruth Kemmer of Rossville, Kay (Don) Knop of Monticello and Karen (Tony) Gascho of Lafayette; one sister-in-law Roberta Holtman of Lafayette, several nieces and nephews and special Army friends from Rockford, IL.
Visitation for Jane will be held from 9 â 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Raschka officiating and with Pastor Rick Ryan co-officiating. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jane may be made to Links of Love (c/o Rossville United Methodist Church, 110 W Main St, Rossville, IN 46065) Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
