Mary Margaret Hutchison

Mary Margaret Hutchison, 96, of Mulberry, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Sterling House in Kokomo.  

Mary was born May 29, 1917, in Clinton County near Frankfort, the daughter of Thomas B. and Inez Mattix Ruch.  She married Gerald C. Hutchison on June 12, 1937, in Frankfort; he preceded her in death March 24, 2002.  

She graduated from Rossville High School in 1935.  Mary grew up and lived most of her life in the Mattix Corner area of Madison Twp.  She was a housewife and homemaker.  Mary helped her husband manage several rental properties in Frankfort.  She was a member of Mulberry Community Club and Community Reform Church in Lafayette.  She had been a volunteer at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital since 1967.  Mary also helped with Habitat for Humanity in Florida for two years.  

Mary is survived by two sons, Richard R. (Patricia) Hutchison and Ronald K. (Kennie) Hutchison; two daughters, Janice (Dan) Leazenby and Carol (David) Gum; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.  

Along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by three sisters, Olene Miller, Mable Rose Smith, and Anna May Cripe.  

Visitation for Mary will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, from 4-6 pm at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel.  Funeral services will begin at 10 am on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Allen officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
