Mary Rovene Jackson

Mary “Rovene” Jackson, 85, of Frankfort, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 1:07 a.m. at her home peacefully in her sleep after a courageous six year battle with cancer.

She was born November 23, 1926, in Clinton County, the daughter of Robert “Ollie” and Elsie (Culver) Bates.

On March 28, 1943, she married Leon Jackson; he preceded her in death in 1996.

Rovene sold Avon for 40 years before retiring in 2010.  Many representatives and customers and their children became lifelong friends.

Surviving  are her children; Deanna (Sam) Allen of Frankfort and Trudy (Dan) Poore of Avon; Terry’s fiancée, Sue Maurer of Madison, Wis.; five grandchildren, Kim (Kevin) Biery, Rob (Dori) Allen, Wendy (Broc) Budde, Molly (Luke) Burgin, and Heather Allen; 12 great grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Rovene is preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Terry Lee Jackson who died in 1995.

Visitation for Rovene will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 4-7pm.  Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.

Donations in Rovene’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
