Mary Thelma Cook, 80, formerly of Frankfort, died at 4:38 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at her sonâs house in Zionsville.
She was born Aug. 5, 1931 in Kirklin, to Jean and Clara (Loveless) Gorham. She married Lawrence R. Cook July 9, 1953. He preceded her in death Dec. 30, 2006.
Mrs. Cook graduated from Kirklin High School in 1949. She did office work at various places through-out her life, she was also a Wal-Mart Greeter for 14 years. She had lived Lived in California with her husband while he served in the United States Marines. Moved back to Frankfort in 1969. She was a member of Eastside Christian Church and loved to read her bible.
She is survived by a son: Mike R. Cook of Zionsville; three grandchildren: Adam M. Cook, Michelle Atkinson and Samuel Cook; four great-grandchildren; and four three sisters: Betty Turner of Ladoga, and Martha Park, Marge Brooks and Judy Gorham, all of Frankfort.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: Dick Gorham.
Graveside services will be at noon Monday, Jan. 9 at Green Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon at Genda Funeral Home.
