Maurice "Maury" Oglesby

Maurice “Maury” Oglesby, 86, of Rossville, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at IU Health Methodist in Indianapolis. He was born April 22, 1938, in Moran to Maurice and Bernice (Weida) Oglesby. He married Diane Virgil on October 19, 1962, and she survives.

Maury was a 1956 graduate of Rossville High School and earned a degree from Purdue University in 1960. He served in the United States Army. He worked for 15 years as the General Manager for Mike Raisor Automotive Group and three years for Ray Rudd Automotive. He was the owner of HB Ham for 10 years. Maury was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church, Beard Masonic Lodge and Rossville Lions Club. He enjoyed golfing, watching Colts football, Purdue sports, Chicago Cubs Baseball, and antiquing. 

Along with his wife of 62 years, Maury is survived by his children, Douglas Oglesby and Beth Reis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 1pm until the time of the memorial service at 3pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville. Pastor Angie Hufford will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Maury’s honor to the Best Friends Animal Society or Indianapolis Animal Care Services.
