Max G. Kuhns, 88, of Frankfort, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016, at Mulberry Health.
He was born December 14, 1927, in Clinton County, to Russell Samuel and Martha Belle Garling Kuhns. Max was formerly married to Therese Molohan. On December 14, 1989, he married Carolyn McCray Wharry; she preceded Max in death on December 21, 2015.
Max served in the United States Air Force after graduating from Rossville High School in 1945. After 28 ½ years of service, he retired from P.R. Mallory in 1992. He was a member of Kilmore United Methodist Church, N.R.A., American Legion Post #12, and Loyal Order of the Moose #7. Max enjoyed reading, watching the news, eating his cookies, going for drives, being outdoors, and airplanes and guns.
Surviving Max are his children, Richard J. (Jayne) Kuhns, of Moran, William S. âBillâ Kuhns, of Indianapolis, Mary S. Kuhns, of Beech Grove, and Linda M. (Jeff) Ummel, of Frankfort; four step-children; four grandchildren, Caitlin Kuhns, Marisa Kuhns, Kiersten Dirbas, and Ashley Dirbas.
In addition to his wife, Max is preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 â 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Craig Overman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort with military honors. Memorials in Maxâs name may be made to the Alzheimerâs Association.
