Meredith Joe Skiles, 79 of Rossville, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at his home. He was born September 8, 1937 in Clinton County to Floyd H. and Mary E. (Root) Skiles. On January 19, 1957, Meredith married Leona Linnie Shively; she survives in Rossville.
Meredith was a lifelong Carroll and Clinton County area resident and member of the Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church. He was a farmer in his early years and later in life; a carpenter. He drove bus for the Rossville School System for over 17 years, ending in 2002.
In addition to his wife, Meredith is survived by three sons, Verlin (Beth) Skiles, Leland (Elaine) Skiles and Brian (Rebecca) Skiles, all of Rossville; two daughters, Carol Miller of Kennewick, Washington and Karen (Doug) Diehl of Delphi; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Keith (Marilyn) Skiles of North Manchester and one sister, Maxine (Robert) Metzger of Rossville.
Meredith was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017, at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church from 1:00 - 5:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Old German Baptist Cemetery.
