Michael David "Mike" DeVore

Michael David “Mike” DeVore, 69, of Mulberry, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at IU Health Arnett Hospital. He was born February 22, 1955, in Lafayette to Bernie and Violet (Young) DeVore. 

Mike was a graduate of Clinton Prairie High School. He worked for Area 4 Agency on Aging and Community Service for over 40 years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodges in Frankfort and Lafayette and the American Legion Post #11. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, camping, gardening, and watching his grandkid’s events and activities. He had a loving and giving heart. He was always willing to help anyone with things they needed. His personality lit up any room he entered. Above all, he loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed hosting them for gatherings and holidays. 

He is survived by his daughters, Amanda (Cory) Kistler and Melissa DeVore, stepdaughters, Britney (Cody) Pitzer and Rebecca Loveless; siblings, Rita Livengood, Donald (Ute) DeVore; girlfriend, Nancy Salem; grandchildren, Madison Kistler, Kaleb Kistler, Connor Jackson, Caden Pitzer and Jackson Pitzer; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Edwin DeVore.

Visitation will be held, Monday, August 26, 2024, from 5pm until the time of the service at 7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Mulberry Chapel. Burial be held Tuesday at 10am at Wyandotte Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
