Michael Friend

Michael Friend, 65, formerly of Frankfort, passed away October 12, 2014, at Enfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Enfield, IL.

He was born February 7, 1949, in Frankfort, the son of Paul W. and Betty L. Fickle Friend.

Mike attended Frankfort High School.  He enjoyed nature, wildlife, archery, playing cards, horseback riding, and spending time with his children and grandson.

Surviving are one son, Garrett (Paula) Friend of Frankfort; daughter, Melissa (Brian) Rector of Bluffton; two sisters, Ann Crider of Frankfort, and Jane Whitaker of Bloomington; and one grandson, Eric Bluck of Frankfort.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in St. Paul Cemetery in Michigantown.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com
