Mildred L. Harrison, 97, of Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at her home.
She was born April 4, 1916, in Frankfort, the daughter of Clarence and Nina Fisher Innis. On August 13, 1936, she married Eugene M. Harrison; he preceded her in death on February 7, 2006.
Mildred greatly enjoyed being a homemaker. She also enjoyed gardening and reading especially her Bible in addition to being dedicated to her prayers. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Frankfort.
Surviving Mildred are one son, Max E. Harrison of Lafayette; two daughters, Sharon F. Shepherd of Frankfort, and Mary L. (Raymond) Chupp of Greenville, S.C.; one sister, Mary Jane McMahon of Frankfort; one sister-in-law, Maxine Innis of Frankfort; 11 grandchildren, Michael Chupp, Richard Chupp, Brian Chupp, Christopher Chupp, Andrew Chupp, Priscilla Haight, Robert Wood, Lisa Mohler, Jane Jones, Karen Poe, and Max Harrison Jr.; 25 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, David Shepherd; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Harrison; two great grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Mildred will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013, from 5:00 â 8:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at First Wesleyan Church in Frankfort with Pastor Jeff Lemire and Rev. Ernest Batman officiating. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorials in Mildredâs name may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
