Minnie L. Yundt, 86, formerly of Lafayette, died at 4:15 a.m. Feb. 11, 2011, at the Mulberry Health and Retirement community. She was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Carroll County, to the late Emerson and Nellie Fossnock Metzger. She married Floyd J. Yundt on March 31, 1946. He survives.
She graduated from Monitor High School in 1942. For most of her life she was a farm wife. She went to Nurse's Training at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Crouse in Mulberry and also Home Hospital for a short time. She helped teach kindergarden at Dayton Schools and preschool at the Methodist Church in Dayton. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and gardening. She was a member of Trinity Church of Mulberry and Womens Guild at Trinity Church.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Duane (wife: Lori) of Rural Frankfort and Larry (wife: Joy) of Bunkerhill, Ill.; three daughters, Marcia Leach (husband: Donald), Darlene McCray (husband: Mark), and Judy Skinner (husband: Larry) all of Lafayette; and one sister, Leona Neidigh (husband: D.O.) of Bethany Beach, Del.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, Greg (wife Laura) Leach, Jeff (companion Kim Hulme) Leach, Denise (husband Jason) Warford, Michael (wife Heather) Leach, Michelle (husband Jason) Dunbar, Andrew Yundt, Ashlee McCray, Alyssa McCray, Wayne Skinner, Emily Skinner, Karen (husband Eddy) Efendy, Neil Skinner, Meghan Yundt, Corey Yundt & Amanda (husband Thomas) Sanders. Eighteen Great Grandchildren also survive. She was proceded in death by five brothers.
Minnie's Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday February 16, 2011 at 2:00PM at Bodine Funeral Home, Mulberry. Visitation will occur from 12:00pm until service time on Wednesday. Burial will take place at Fair Haven Cemetery in Mulberry. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
