Mitchell Nolan Millikan, 75, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013, at his home.
He was born December 21, 1937, in Noblesville. On September 14, 1960, he married the former Phyllis Shrock in Frankfort; she survives.
Mitchell served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1952-1956. He graduated from Sheridan High School and later received his associate degree from Ivy Tech in heating and air conditioning. Mitchell worked for Pitman Moore and Dow Chemical from 1956 to 1972. He then worked at Quaker Oats until 1996. Mitchell then began working in the maintenance department at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital until his retirement in 2004. Mitchell attended First Church of the Nazarene and a member of Moose Lodge #7. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, fishing, camping, and working in his yard.
In addition to his wife, Mitchell is survived by two daughters, Marci McQuern of Avon, and Kimberly (Kenny) Stevens of Kirklin; two brothers, Niles (Joan) Millikan of Noblesville, and Joseph Nelson (Patty) Millikan of Frankfort; mother-in-law, Cartha Shrock of Kokomo; brother-in-law, Allen (Sharon) Shrock of Kokomo; three grandchildren, Kolton Stevens, Kendra Stevens, and Klayton Stevens; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mitchell E. Millikan, and mother and step-father, Gladys and Wilbur OâRear.
Visitation for Mitchell were held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 4:00 â 7:00 p.m. Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Gregg Davis officiating. Burial followed in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorials in Mitchellâs name may be made to Clinton County Humane Society, Shop with a Cop, or Guardian Angel Hospice.
