Mona Frances Reynolds, 90, of Rossville, died on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
She was born August 29, 1923, in Gosport, the daughter of the late Maurice F. and Lea (Cherry) Lewing.
She married the late William Snapp, Jr. in 1943. She later married Josiah Reynolds in 1964; he preceded her in death in 1975.
Growing up in the Gosport/Switz City areas of Indiana, and Georgetown, IL, Mona lived in Rossville since 1956.
Mona worked for 33 years as an account manager at Consolidated Industries Corporation in Lafayette, retiring in 1985. She was a civilian employee in the Air Service Command at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio; and she served as a Navy WAVE as a second Class Yeoman stationed in Washington DC. Mona was a member and served as Past Worthy Matron of Helen Bonebrake Chapter #437 Order of Eastern Star in Rossville and was also a Former Grand Representative. She was member and served at Past President of Rossville American Legion Post. Mona was a member and Past Elder of the Rossville Presbyterian Church. She played the piano regularly at Milner Community Health Care and Eastern Star. She was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and a member of the Rosy Reds and she had traveled 25 years to see the Redâs games.
Surviving are step daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Patricia) Mitchell of Lafayette; step daughter-in-law, Donna Reynolds of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 7 great, great grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by two sons, Don Deray Snapp and Gary Dean Snapp; granddaughter, Traci Snapp; sister, Helen Lewing; and one infant sister.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Rossville Presbyterian Church in Rossville, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at noon with Pastor John Everett officiating.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lafayette.
Memorials in Monaâs name may be made to the American Heart Association or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
