Mona (Rice) Weller, 81, of Indianapolis, died at 10:13 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at
Forum At the Crossing.
She was born Nov. 26, 1930 in South Bend, to Clifford and Frances Spanier Rice. She married Dr. Ralph Dean Weller Jan. 16, 1954. He preceded her in death April 20, 1996.
Mrs. Weller was an office manager and nurse at her husbandâs medical office, and a homemaker. She graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1947 and attended IU medical school through 1951. She was a board member with the APSL Association where she taught and tutored people with dyslexia. She was an avid reader, and her painting done while participating at the Forum with Alzheimerâs Memories in the making was chosen for the Alzheimerâs campaign and displayed in Washington, D.C. She also enjoyed her home in the country in Rossville and feeding birds and various wildlife.
She is survived by two sons: Curt (Julie) Weller of Katy, Texas and Robert âBobâ (Stephanie) Weller of Indianapolis; a daughter: Jackie (partner Cassandra) Weller; two grandsons: Jason Weller and Christopher Weller; one aunt: Ann Renner; two cousins: Bob Renner and Jim Renner; two brothers-in-law: Dale (Kaye) Weller and Mark (Sarah) Weller; one sister-in-law: Gay Scull; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6 at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.
