N. Marlene Katzman Harsh, 75, of 9707 New Castle Road, Lafayette passed away in her residence on March 27, 2012 at 9:00AM. Marlene was born on September 29, 1936 in Lafayette, IN to the late William Karl & Evelyn Louise (Burkhalter) Katzman. She first married Archie Dewey Sanders in June 1955 and they later divorced. She then married Merwyn Dean Harsh in 1988 and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2006.
She previously worked at National Homes & Landis Gyr, then retired to become a homemaker. She was a member of the Trinity Church of Mulberry, American quilting club and the Womens Guild at the chruch. She enjoyed playing cards with the seniors at the Faye Snyder Center in Mulberry, knitting, crotcheting, gardening and flowers. She also enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and baking cookies.
She is survived by three daughters, Marjorie Lesley of Lafayette, Donna (husband Mick) Mounts of Lafayette & Norma Sanders Horn of Mulberry. Two sisters, Etta (husband Dean) Phillips of Mulberry, Patricia (husband Jim) Roberts of Osgood and one brother, Karl E. Katzman of Mulberry. She is also survived by Christina Adams, Lydia Porche, Robyn Nearing, Denise Mitchell, Tyler Lesley, Mickala Lesley, Shea Malady and Lance Corporal Malady, John Chase. Four Great Grandchildren, Brittney, Cody, Elijah and Beauty.
Marlene was preceded in death by one son, Oscar ""Ozzie"" Dean Sanders and one brother, Gerry Dean Katzman.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 11:00AM at the Trinity Church in Mulberry with Pastor Phil Whisler officiating. Visitation will be held at the Bodine Funeral Home in Mulberry from 5-8pm on Friday. Burial will take place at Fair Haven Cemetery and memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
