Nina Jewell âChicâ Wagoner, 90, of Modesto, CA, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2015, at her home.
She was born July 30, 1924, in Clinton County, to Earl and Malinda Wagoner.
Nina graduated from Flora High School in 1942. She worked at Flora Furniture Factory where she created a love for woodworking. Nina later worked for Jameson Furniture Co. in California where she repaired antiques and made furniture. She then opened and operated Nina Wagoner Furniture repair in Modesto. Nina was a creative woodworker, hand carving many items of furniture. She was a member of West Modesto Old German Baptist Church New Conference and Model T Club. She enjoyed camping and collecting.
Surviving are two nieces, Malinda (Mike) Hannah and Muriel (Dave) Grimes; one nephew, Ron (Kim) Miller; Paul (Debby) Williams, whom she helped raise from childhood; and several great and great, great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lois Miller and Behula Wagoner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Darrell Boyd and Aaron Garber will officiate.
