Noah Shackelford

Noah Shackelford, 75, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015, at his home.  

Noah was born July 18, 1940, in Rose Hill, VA, to Gilles and Mary Woodard Shackelford.  Noah married Ollie Mae Saylor; she preceded him in death on March 24, 2013.

Noah was a veteran of the United States Army.  He worked for RCA in Monticello, and later retired from Wabash National.  After his retirement, he was a greeter at Wal-Mart and stocker at Pay-Less.  He enjoyed trading.

Surviving Noah are two sons, William “Billy” Shackelford and Donny Shackelford , both of Kentucky;  daughter, Melissa Shackelford of Florida; one step-daughter, Trina (Jeff) Veldhuizen; one step-son, Michael Faustich; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; one sister, Fleeta Blackburn of Ohio; and one brother, David Shackelford of West Lafayette.  

In addition to his wife, Noah was preceded in death by his parents, son, Keven Shackelford; and step-daughter, Lisa Mills.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Delphi, from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.   Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
