Norma R. Russell, 92, of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born May 10, 1925 in Urbana, IL to John and Ella (Wright) Ross.
Norma graduated from Danville High School in 1943 and enjoyed letting others know she went to school with Dick and Jerry Van Dyke. She attended night school for painting; she enjoyed oil painting and crossword puzzles and worked for Block-Kohl Department Store. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church and was a former member of the ladies circle.
On November 14, 1943, Norma married Theodore L. âTedâ Russell. She and Ted ran the Ben Franklin and together celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. Ted survives with children, Steven (Margaret) Russell of Indianapolis, Philip (Gwen) Russell of Schererville and David (Debbie) Russell of Frankfort; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one brother, Mike (Barbara) Ross of North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
The funeral service for Norma R. Russell will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 in the Amanda Reid Chapel at Wesley Manor with Pastor Phil Lake officiating. Visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m.* on Monday, July 31, 2017 in Oakridge Cemetery, Catlin, IL. *All times local.
