Ollie ""Mae"" Shackelford

Ollie “Mae” Shackelford, 69, of Lafayette, died on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community in Mulberry, Indiana.

She was born April 5, 1943 in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of Garfield and Ellen Miracle Saylor; her mother survives.  Mae married Noah Shackelford, and he survives.

Mae, along with her daughter, was the owner of Apple Tree Gallery since 1991.

In addition to her husband and mother, Mae is survived by one daughter, Trina (husband Jeff) Veldhuizen; one son Michael Faustich; fourteen grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Thelma (husband Steve) Strong, Dee (husband Rich) Kelly-Bowsher, and Terrie (Husband Jim) Unger; two brothers, Bill (wife Jay) Saylor, and Phil Saylor; and several nieces and nephews.    

She was preceded by her father, daughter, Lisa Mills; and infant sister, Ella Sue Saylor.

Visitation for Mae will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Grace Baptist Church in Delphi, IN with Brother Joe Whitehead officiating.
