Patricia Ann Root
Patricia Ann Root, 72, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette.
She was born September 24, 1943, in Flora, to Charles E. and Margaret Allbaugh Sibbitt. On April 4, 1964, she married William âBillâ Root; he survives.
Patricia graduated from Burlington High School in 1961. She was a bookkeeper for 25 years at Kokomo Grain Elevator before retiring in 2002. Patricia lived in the Burlington area before moving to Lafayette in 2000. She was a member of the Home Ec Club and part of their exercising group and attended Faith Church in Lafayette. She loved to bake, enjoyed traveling with Bill, and having lunch with friends outside.
In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her mother, Margaret, of Bringhurst; daughter, Debbie (Terry) Hamilton of Troy, MI; one brother, Jerry (Joyce) Sibbitt of Bringhurst; and two grandchildren, Emily and Will.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora, with Pastor Dana Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Memorials in Patriciaâs name may be made to Tippecanoe County Education Fund, 3150 Sagamore Parkway, Lafayette, IN, 47909. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora.
