Patricia Ann (Pollard) Huffer Finney

May 25, 1931 — June 21, 2024

Frankfort

Patricia Ann (Pollard) Huffer Finney of Mesa, AZ, May 25, 1931 – June 21, 2024, born in Lafayette, Indiana. She was the youngest of two sisters. Her parents and older sister, Violet, preceded her in death, as did both of her husbands, Samuel Huffer, married for 28 years and Roscoe Finney, 29 years.

Patricia (Patty as many folks called her) lived a life of service. She was Senior Volunteer of the Year in 2001 for Area 4 of the State of Indiana. Over the years she delivered Meals on Wheels, cared for five different family members, and volunteered her time at the Paul Phillippe Resource Center in Frankfort, Indiana.

She was an active member of the Country Chapel Church of God where she volunteered her time as church treasurer. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Hillisburg Chapter of the Eastern Star (now Clinton Chapter).

Grandma Patty (what the grandkids called her) loved playing cards, dominoes and many board games as well as completing jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed participating in the Senior Olympics each year and proudly kept her medals. Art fairs and festivals were one of her favorite things and she loved attending the annual Strawberry Festival in Frankfort as well as many festivals in Arizona.

She loved collecting angels, and many folks described her as one. A calm demeanor and always leading from her heart, Patricia is survived by her eldest daughter Deborah Stroup of Mesa, Arizona, her second daughter, Michelle Payton (Michael) of Huntsville, Arkansas, and her son Charles (Chuck) Huffer (Kelli) of Lafayette, Indiana. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They include Staci Stroup (Rylee, Roxanne, Aiden and Aleister), Brett Stroup (Caylee, Aubri and Kensi), Rebecca Payton (Amilia, Ofelia, Violeta), Samuel Payton (Addison) and Karlie and Dalton Huffer.

Graveside services will be held 10:30am, Friday, August 2, 2024, at Green Lawn Cemetery. Day-Genda Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Paul Phillippe Resource Center in her honor. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
