Patsy R. Strawn, 86, of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Wesley Manor. She was born on June 1, 1934, in Cyclone, to Ralph R. and Ruth (Miller) Trees. She married Richard “Dick” L. Strawn on January 1, 1955; he survives.
Patsy was a lifelong resident of Clinton County and graduated from Kirklin High School in 1952 where she played in the Carl Kraft Band. She had worked for Blue Cross Insurance and P.R. Mallory before becoming a secretary at Clinton Central Elementary School for two years. She then transferred to the Superintendent’s office as Corporation Secretary and Treasurer for 22 years, retiring in 1996.
Patsy was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, the Pink Ladies, and assisted the financial secretary. She enjoyed volunteering at Wesley Manor where she had resided for several years, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving along with her husband, Dick are daughters, Debbie A. (Max) Avery of Michigantown and Rene’ L. (James) Rogers of Batesville; sisters, Peggy (Greg) Irving of Green Valley, Arizona and Ann Price of Frankfort; grandchildren, Whitney (JT) Sloggett of Lebanon, Ashley (Matt) Morris of Greensburg, Kortney (Matt) McQuinn of Forest, and Aleesa (Matthew) Ferrel of Forest; and great grandchildren Kayden, Korbyn and Johnny Sloggett, Mason, Parker, Colt, Emery Morris, Kendall and Kane Flickinger, and Olivia Ferrel; and step great grandchildren, Hannah and Macie McQuinn.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Trees; brother-in-law, Ted Price; and great grandson Kai Avery Flickenger.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 11am, until the start of the funeral service at 2pm, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Karl Kercheval will officiate. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery in Scircleville.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Wesley Manor and Guardian Angel Hospice for their wonderful care of Patsy during her long fought illness.
Memorial contributions in Patsy’s honor may be made to St. Matthew United Methodist Church or the Wesley Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
