Violet âPaulineâ Alley, 95, a life-long resident of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.
She was born March 30, 1921, in Frankfort, to Charles and Stella Mae Lamb Galey. She was formerly married to Fred McNew. Pauline later married Joseph E. Alley; he preceded her in death in 1967.
Pauline attended Frankfort High School. She worked for Alcoa during World War II and later for Jules L. Simon and then Peter Paul Candy. Pauline was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and actively participated at the Paul Phillippe Resource Center. She enjoyed oil painting and water colors, traveling with her sister Sybil, and raising poodles. Tootsie, her poodle, was very special to her.
Pauline is survived by her children, William C. (Dixie) Lee, of Frankfort, Frederick J. (Anna) McNew, of Kokomo, Kerry W. (Theresa) McNew, of Frankfort, and Marlita K. (Scott) McNew, of Kentucky; grandchildren, Jason, Wendy, Billy, Becky, and Betty; 13 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Pauline is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mildred Barnaby, Sybil June Coffman, and Helen Huffer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at noon. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery. Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
