Pauline M. "Paula" (Johnson) Cavin

Pauline M. “Paula” Cavin, 82, passed away peacefully at Wesley Manor Health Care Pavilion on October 25, 2022.

She was born April 23, 1940, in Wellington, New Zealand, to Cyrillic Francis and Bernice (Burns) Johnson.  She graduated from an all-girls Catholic school in New Zealand.  On April 11, 1959, Paula married John David Zurfas in Vancouver, Canada.  They divorced, and he preceded her in death on May 2, 2009.  On June 5, 1976, Paula married Richard “Rick” Cavin in Lebanon, Indiana, and they later divorced.

Paula worked as a secretary at Witham Hospital in Lebanon for 27 years.  She then worked as a bus monitor for Paul Phillippe Resource Center.  Paula enjoyed camping, cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing her children’s clothes, shopping, and going to festivals.  She loved her family and helped raise her grandson.  She especially loved the holidays when the family could be together.

Surviving Paula are her daughters, Donna Lynn (Zurfas) Antonelli and Teresa Sue (Zurfas) Stevens; grandson, Nathan Jay Stevens; and great-grandson, Hollis Andrew Edward Stevens.

Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until the start of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.  Memorials in Paula’s name may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
