Pauline G. Hall, 89, of Lafayette, passed away October 23, 2014, at Rosewalk Village in Lafayette.
She was born January 26, 1925, in Tippecanoe County, to John and Ethel Edris Schutz. On November 29, 1944, she married James R. Hall in Frankfort; he passed away February 14, 2009.
Pauline grew up in the Fair Haven area north of Mulberry. She graduated Mulberry High School in 1942. Pauline lived most of her life in Mulberry before moving to Lafayette in 2000. She worked as a legal secretary for five years with Judge James Watson in Indianapolis and then as a medical secretary with Home and St. Elizabeth Hospitals for 15 years before her retirement in 1966. Pauline also baby sat for several Mulberry families from 1967-1998. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Lafayette and member and past treasurer of Jefferson Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving Pauline are one daughter, Cynthia A. (Darrell) Merkel of Maggie Valley, NC; five grandchildren, Babette Erwin, Erika Hall, Christopher Hall, Molly Byrd, and Ross Merkel; five great grandchildren, Brandie Jo Workman, Ashley Nichole Byrd, Christopher J. Hall, Madison Erwin, and Kayne Hall; great, great grandchild, Paige Workman; and brother, James R. (Diana) Schutz of Rossville.
In addition to her husband, Pauline is preceded in death by one son, William R. Hall; two sisters, Meredith Crum and Florence Swain; and one granddaughter, Jerilyn Hall.
Visitation for Pauline will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the services. Clinton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star will begin the services at 1:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow. Burial will be in Fair Haven Cemetery in Mulberry.
