Phil Ferguson, 80, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, June 8, 2015.
He was born June 16, 1934, in Sheridan, to Willis and Ione Pritsch Ferguson. On July 18, 1954, he married Joan Power; she survives.
Phil graduated Frankfort Senior High School in 1952, and then attended Purdue University. He worked with his father at Ferguson and Son Heating and Cooling until the 1960âs when he purchased it from his father. He then worked side by side with his wife and family until his retirement in 1996. Phil and Joan enjoyed camping with the family from the time when the children were babies and through the early 2000âs. Phil was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church where he was a past trustee and ad board member and member of Masonic Lodge 50. He was a past Jaycee and heavily involved with the Junior Miss Pagents. Phil enjoyed photography and gardening.
In addition to his wife, Phil is survived by two sons, Gene Ferguson of Florida, and Jeff Ferguson of Frankfort; one daughter, Jill Berry of Indianapolis; two sisters, Katie Gray of Frankfort, and Jane Reed of Michigan; and two grandchildren, Kellie Fischer and William Fischer.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Frankfort, with Rev. Justin Fisher officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
