Phillip Morton Ward, 61, of Kirklin, passed away at 11:43 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2013, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a brief illness.
He was born August 27, 1951, in Frankfort, the son of Gerald and Martha Underwood Ward; his mother survives. On May 24, 1980, he married the former Linda S. Rohrabaugh; she survives.
In 1969, Phillip graduated from Clinton Central High School. Phillip worked as a millwright at Delphi General Motors in Kokomo before retiring in 2003. He attended Kirklin Christian Church. Phillip enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren especially swimming, fishing, sports, and remodeling his home.
In addition to his wife and mother, Phillip is survived by one daughter, Sandra (David) Carpenter; two brothers, Tom Brown and Stephen (Kathy) Ward; one sister, Anita Ward; six grandchildren, Joshua Philip Klein, Rebecca Louise Malott, Logan Ward Malott, Bailey Violet Smith, Knoble Drew Carpenter, and Garrett Marshall Carpenter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Phillip is preceded in death by one daughter, Marta Kristen Klein, and one grandson, Caleb Andrew Klein.
Visitation for Phillip will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Joe McAdams officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
