Phyllis Ilene Lerch, 85, of rural Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at her home.
Phyllis was born July 4, 1930, in Lafayette, to Walter and Pearl Jordan Turner. On April 24, 1951, she married Russell J. Lerch Sr.; he preceded her in death on April 19, 1990.
She was a lifelong Tippecanoe County resident; Phyllis attended Monitor Schools. She was a farm wife and member of the Pyrmont Church of the Brethren and Order of the Eastern Star Hope Chapter #5.
Surviving Phyllis are two children, Sherri L. (Fred) Russell of Lafayette, and Russell J. (Ronda) Lerch Jr. of rural Lafayette; four grandchildren, Brandi J. Russell, Joshua P. (Jennifer), Riley R. Lerch (CJ Slate), and Reghan R. Lerch; and three great grandchildren, Madison B. Lumley, Kaitlin R. Lumley, and Elijah P. Russell.
In addition to her husband, Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Maxine, Kathleen, and Mary; and five brothers, Jim, Paul, Basil, Loren, and Gerald.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to the start of the service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor William Scott will officiate.
