Radiance (Trobaugh) Allen Kuiper, 89, of Hollywood, Florida, formerly of Flora, died May 16, 2012, at Memorial Regional Hospital, Hollywood Florida.
She was a secretary and ower of John Mansfield Home Improvement Co., with her first husband, George. She graduate of Cutler High School Class of 1940; Radiance could cook for 300 and never bat an eye. She was an excellent cook and baker. A family of 8 arrived 10 minutes before serving and mother stretched the meal at the last minute by adding food and they felt like they had been invited. She would do anything to help someone in need. She was a very loyal friend. She loved to play cards and bingo above all else. Radiance received her 50-year pin many years ago in Eastern Star and was a membr of the Helen Bonebrake Chapter of OES # 437. She was Worthy Matron twice and Rainbow mother many years. She ran the Kitchen at the First Christian Church for years.
She was a staunch Democrat and worked in the Party. She was affectionately known as âRed Allenâ
Born August 11, 1922, at Cutler, IN, her parents were Chalmer Ross & Cassie (Aten) Trobaugh
She married George C. Allen on December 24, 1943. He died in 1965.
She married Koert Kuiper on April 13, 1970. He is deceased.
Survivors are children, Virginia Sue Shields, Darlene Koble Evans, and James E. Allen. She became mother to Ken & Martha Kuiper, Ed & Jo Ellen Allen, Clarence & Dorothy Allen, & Wayne Allen, Annetta & Stan Vanderklok, Jane & Amos Newhouse, Jim & Jill Kuiper, Betty Vleitstra. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by siblings, William A. Trobaugh, Joseph Trobaugh, Annette Pearce, & children, Roberta & Jack Gillam.
Services Monday, May 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, Pastor Woody Slade officiating. Interment Maple Lawn Cemetery.
Calling 3-7 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel & one hour prior to the service at the church; Eastern Star services will be conducted at 6:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.

The family would like people to bring a story about Radiance to share. Hopefully some will be sweet, but we are expecting most to be funny, ornery, and bordering terrorizing. We love and laugh at all. She was one of a kind.
